Singing bowls have been used in Eastern lands, since time immemorial, as an aid to meditation, relaxation and contemplation. Played by striking or stroking, the bowl sings as it vibrates, to evoke the harmony of the spheres, bringing healing to all who hear. The ancient teachings of every great religeon tell us that every thing in our universe was created from sound... That every thing is sound... So sound has a very profound effect on us. Made of a special combination of seven mystical metals,it is believed that the extraordinary resonance of the singing bowls is due to the different molecule size of each of the costituent metals. The word "Shanta" comes from the indian Nada Rasa - the nine sentiments - It is a special expression, denoting the special healing qualities of peace and tranquility.
